Dutch crypto exchange BitKassa says it will cease operations on May 17 due to high registration fees and regulatory issues

Dutch cryptocurrency exchange BitKassa announced that it will cease operations on May 17 due to high registration fees and excessive government regulation. Lianwen previously reported that the Dutch Monetary Authority said on Monday that the Dutch cryptocurrency company must register with the Dutch central bank before May 18, otherwise it will be ordered to stop operations immediately. In order to comply with the European Union ’s anti-money laundering directive and the standards set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATC), the Bank of Netherlands is currently taking action to implement an enhanced version of the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering (AML) law. The law was passed in the Dutch Parliament last month.
