Libra Association appoints Stuart Levey, currently Chief Legal Officer of HSBC, as CEO

Libra Association appointed Stuart Levey as CEO. Stuart Levey is currently the Chief Legal Officer of HSBC, and also served as the Deputy Director of the Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Service of the US Treasury. Stuart Levey said, “I look forward to working closely with the government, regulators, and all stakeholders to change the global payment landscape.” Stuart Levey will join the Libra Association this summer after stepping down as chief legal officer of HSBC. Lianwen previously reported that Libra released version 2.0 of the white paper in mid-April. In addition to the multi-currency stablecoin system, Libra will add support for single-currency stablecoins and abandon the transition to an unlicensed system. This is the biggest update since the Libra white paper was released last June.
