a16z Former partner founded a new crypto venture company dedicated to building an ownership economy driven by cryptocurrencies

Jesse Walden, a former partner of Silicon Valley venture capital company Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and co-founder of Mediachain, announced the formal establishment of a new venture capital company, Variant Fund, dedicated to building an “ownership economy” driven by cryptocurrencies. Jesse Walden said that he will cooperate with entrepreneurs and communities at an early stage. Walden told Coindesk that Variant Fund is currently supported by a16z’s general partner Chris Dixon and Marc Andreessen, Union Square Ventures and Compound founder and CEO Robert Leshner, and has invested, but has not yet announced.
