Russia’s Attorney General proposes to create an automated online tracking system to combat cryptocurrency-related cybercrimes

Russian Attorney General Igor Krasnov proposed to create an automated online tracking system to combat cryptocurrency-related cyber crimes. He said that in the past five years, cyber crimes in Russia have increased 25 times. There have been 225,000 cases in the first half of 2020, an increase of 92% compared to the same period in 2019. Some criminal acts usually use cryptocurrency to improve anonymity, so he suggested creating an automated system for online tracking of cybercrimes and fundamentally changing the police’s existing actions and initial investigation methods for such cases.
