The Layer 2 expansion project Celer Network (CELR) announced that the internal beta version of Celer Hybrid Rollup Testnet has been activated on the Ethereum Ropsten testnet. Celer’s side chain adopts a hybrid architecture, which provides side chain security through a delegated proof of stake (DPoS) consensus for dApps, and strengthens the main chain security through the Rollup function for specific purposes (such as token transfer). The testnet supports the aforementioned Hybrid Rollup function through the Proof of Authority (PoA) side chain. However, it has not yet integrated with the layer 1 Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) contract, so there is currently no pledge or governance test. Participants in the Celer sidechain can be divided into multiple roles, namely user, validator, delegator, and Rollup validator. In the next step, Celer Network will work to integrate the Hybrid Rollup sidechain with layer 1 DPoS contracts.
