Australian debit card network Eftpos will pass Hedera Hashgraph to test micropayment solutions

Australian debit card company Eftpos has established a partnership with the blockchain platform Hedera Hashgraph, aiming to establish a new type of e-commerce micropayment solution. Eftpos CEO Stephen Benton said that the cooperation between the two companies is a key part of Eftpos’s digital payment innovation strategy to better meet the payment needs of Australians. Benton also stated that Eftpos will test the functionality of an Australian digital stable currency through the Hedera Consensus Service API. The chain notes that Eftpos is Australia’s main debit card payment system. In 2019, it completed more than 2 billion transactions with a total value of about 130 billion Australian dollars.
