The hacker who attacked Twitter used real driver’s license information to register and verify his Coinbase account

According to the Daily Mail, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) disclosed more details about the large-scale hacking of Twitter accounts. The FBI stated that the authorities traced the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase to the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase based on the phishing addresses released by the hackers by analyzing blockchain records. Two hackers, Nima Fazeli and Mason Sheppard, both registered and verified their accounts with Coinbase using real driver’s license information. Nima Fazeli also used his own IP address in the attack, which allows investigators to easily trace its location. According to previous reports from Chain Wen, three hackers Mason Sheppard, Nima Fazeli, and Graham Clark suspected of participating in the massive theft of Twitter accounts have been prosecuted.
